Why should I repair rather than replace?

Most units can be repaired at a fraction of the cost of replacement. The Tub Doctor, Inc. will have your bathroom done in a day with no mess, whether we are refinishing an entire unit or repairing cracks and chips. Replacing means weeks of construction and mess, disrupting your lifestyle and costing thousands of dollars.

How long does it take to refinish my bathtub?

The average job of refinishing a bathtub is 4 - 6 hours. All work is done in the bathtub/shower area with no mess for you to clean up.

How long does the finish last?

With normal use and the following of the care and maintenance instructions, you will enjoy many years of use from your new finish.

How long before I can use my tub?

A minimum of 24 hours is required before use. 48 hours is recommended.

What is the warranty on refinishing a tub or shower unit?

We offer a full 5 year warranty on all bathtub and shower refinishes as long as the care and maintenance guidelines are followed. The Tub Doctor, Inc. uses only the highest quality products and the most up-to-date techniques to ensure a professional and long lasting job every time.

I am remodeling my bathroom, should I have my bathtub refinished first?

No. The Tub Doctor, Inc. recommends that all construction, tile work, painting and plumbing be complete before your bathtub is refinished. This will assure that no damage is done to the new finish due to construction mishaps.

Should I remove the shower doors?

If you are getting rid of your old doors to replace with new, or switch to a shower curtain, than yes. This way, any damage from the old door can be repaired and the finish will cover the entire bathtub. If you are keeping your old doors, then only the doors should be removed and the tracks remain in place. The tracks will be masked off to protect them.
